WELCOME TO UNCO NAfME!
We are the University of Northern Colorado's chapter of the National Association for Music Educators! Our mission is to provide resources and network to music education students. We also strive to create a cohesive, collaborative, and inclusive community within the School of Music. Our goal is to make music education more achievable, leaving music students prepared.

PARTICIPATE IN FUN EVENTS
We plan to have multiple events each semester that are open to everyone but targeted towards future music educators. Members will be expected to attend at least one event per school year.
GUEST SPEAKERS AND PRESENTATIONS
Every year we bring in different guest speakers from all different types of career paths associated with music and music education and listen to presentations on their jobs. Attending these presentations can count towards the required professional development hours.
NO
FEES!
There are no required fees for being a part of our group. However, we do highly encourage our members to become members of organizations like CMEA, NAfME, ACDA, ASTA, etc to gain access to more resources.
CMEA!!!
Every year we send a big group of Music Ed students to the Colorado Music Educators Association to attend workshops on many important and interesting topics. We strongly encourage our members to attend CMEA and help them get it worked out, as it is a very fun event and all of us love this weekend!

We strive to create a community within the Music Education department where staff and students can connect and students can get access to resources, mentors, and information that will help them feel prepared when they enter their own classrooms for the first time. We plan events specifically geared towards giving Music Education students guidance in becoming the best educators they can be, and we would love to have you join us!
